Winter in Tasmania, Australia

We have now an extreme cold winter in Austria, and I just think back the nice 3 weeks I spent some weeks ago in Tasmania, in the down down under....Just flying, kiting, enjoying nature,.....
It's shame that it's so far way!

Hi Martin, I just can tell you that Antea 2 likes the tasmanien air :-) There are just 15 pilots there, all of the very helpfull and friendly, but therefore the infrastructure is not that developed in Tasmania. But if you like wild nature you will love flying there!

Yes, I think I would love to be there. Some of the pictures are amazing. And as far as the number of the local pilots is concerned, I guess you and your team doubled the quantity of local pilots when you were there, didn't you?

Re: Re: Re: Nice..

we were all together 3 pilots with Sky gliders - mean 20% - hope we can reach this also in Europe :-) But really: I was happy to have my Antea 2 with me, starting places there are not that good, and a light glider like Antea 2 is perfect there. Sometimes strong wind - again happy to have a fast glider. And when I look at the pictures - again happy because the wing looks great!

I was just reading about your trip to OZ. it's great to get out of the cold. We used to live in Alaska one vacation changed our lives and we are now Hawaiians. Hawaii is an incredible place to fly! Oahu, has one of the largest clubs in the States. Maui has one of the most diverse and interesting flying vistas anywhere. Maui has everything a visiting pilot could ask for from training to expert flights. Best of all, Hawaii has the aloha spirit! We (my sons and I) are the only ones on the islands that Fly Sky but we're gaining converts!
